I have almost completed my collection of MGM digests, still a few to go but I am now looking for the next series that needs my attention .
I noticed on the spine of the 20th Century Fox 400fter of the Rocky Horror Picture Show that it is No F62. This must mean that there are at least another 51 to collect .
So, I now want to start putting together a list of titles and numbers of the 400fters released by 20th CF. My question therefore is have any of you guys out there got a catalogue, or even some of the 20th Century Fox 400fters in your collection from which you can tell me the title and the number, [numbers are important to me ]?
Then perhaps I could start my search at the May BFCC

Hi Mike, Here are the Fox 400 footers that I have:
F14 The Sound of Music F26 Gentlemen Prefer Blondes F44 Carousel F41 The King and I F46 The Seven Year Itch F3 The Robe
Good luck in your search, but be forwarned that many of these titles have faded, so examine any prints closely before laying out any cash.

Hey, this is a great start. Thanks Chaps .
I shall keep an eye out for fade etc. I've been lucky with the MGM 400fters, they seem to have survived well for the most part. Have the 20th Century Fox digests not stood the test of time so well
The three that I have already, Damnation Alley, Alien and Rocky Horror have the de-luxe plastic cases, does anyone know if they were all sold with these or was it just the latter ones?
Thanks for your help, keep the titles coming and I'll get on to compiling the list.

Wow Doug! That's brilliant, thankyou!! . I'll save that list along with the MGM Digests and optical list that we all put together. Collecting always seems more interesting to me when there is a complete series to go for. I think with 20th CF I might have bitten off enough to chew on for some time though .
As Tony says, I am a bit of a boxes man and when I'm collecting a series the first priority is to get all the titles, then I start looking for better copies. Probably not a very economic way to go about it but it works for me .
Thanks again Chaps
Mike
ps. Doug, are you still planning to come to BFCC??

I think there's enough information here for a decent article for Film For The Collector. Look forward to seeing it Mike.

John, I have just got one together about MGM digests. I need to speak to Duncan though about software and such so that I can illustrate it. Need to know what they use for FFTC.
I would happily do one on 20th CF but have only just dipped my toe in to them [so to speak] so might leave it until I have a bit more knowledge about them, any other takers? Doug?
I'm planning to get an article together about the Sankyo range of projectors next .

Andreas
I just had a look at your web page, it really is fantastic. Have you thought about doing an article for the film for the colletor mag? I think you should it looks like you would have the ideal material there.
The great thing about getting this sort of information into a magazine is that it will be available to us and those who follow is in the future, unfortunately the electronic world is a little more fickle and the info we store on the web is all to fragile .

Andreaa ive just looked at your web page and think it is excellent. You appear to have a number of titles that we certainly didnt have, young Frankenstein and Mackenas gold to name two. and the packaging looks superior to ours by far. Well done, i want one of every film please

Thank you Paul, Mike and Tom. I think there is a little missunderstanding. Only the first page with the fox titles is constructed by me, the link to "more pictures" is to a website from Robert Weidemann in Berlin. I have also more self constructed pages, but these are not ready to present. I exchange information about 8mm films with Robert Weidemann. I will give him this positive feedback.
Mike, yes it would be possible to write an article. Have about 1000 digest films and have experience in writing articles for german collector mags, but I don´t know whether my english is good enough for a english mag? (although great-grandmother was Englishwoman ) Sometimes I have the problem to find the right words and I need a little bit more time to understand messages in this forum. So I can try to write articles but, perhaps, they have to be grammatically corrected.

Thanks for your nice site and those great links as well, Andreas. Lots of great pictures too! Some of those digests I never even knew about.
I would have given my right arm for a 3 x 400 version of "Squirm" had I known about it way back then
