It would be awesome if someone posted some screen pics of Mickey's Christmas Carol. I would love to see them. I plan to get this film at some point!

Shisssh! I've just screened it: had I known about this request, I'd have shot some pics off screen. However it simply is awesome both for the colors and definition (pin sharp) though my print is not as steady as it could be (maybe a problem in the registration of the printing machine). I'll try to post some pics later. But believe me (and certainly othe forum memebers here - more aknowledgeable than I - can confirm) it's a highly reccomandable title. Maybe much sought after, too?

Grant. It is fab and if you were local I would loan it to you! I'll be screening it many times in the next few weeks so if no one beats me to it I will post with pleasure.

I hope that Gian Luca doesn't mind me volunteering him, but I'm pretty sure that he did some truly excellent screenshots from his super 8 print. It's top notch quality from Derann!

I want this so badly! It is on sale on Foster Films right now but I can't buy it because of budget so I asked for it for Christmas. I really I hope I get it this year. If not, I will save up and wait for it to be on sale agin later in the year and buy it anyways.

Without a doubt, the best animated version to date. I sometimes see it available in 16mm - actually more often than in 8mm. Never got around to bidding on either, but eventually I'll grab it. No rush. I actually see it on Ebay fairly often throughout the year so I'm not concerned.

My screen captures were from a video version of this film. You can see the entire video on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kcSIIcrrDqw

I must say that I prefer the "Corny Cole" version of this story from the early or mid 70's, released by Chuck Jones enterprises. It can't be found on super 8, but there are prints of it on 16MM.
Though "Mickey's Christmas Carol" is not without it's charms, it's just that it suffers from what the "Muppets Christmas Carol" suffers.
You know they're muppets ... you know it's Mickey and the gang ...
... and that takes me right out of the story. Not that I don't like the muppets and Mickey, I adore them ... but not as serious story-tellers.

Is there any story that's been done on screen more times than "A Christmas Carol"?

BAH! HUMBUG!
Just once I'd like to see somebody brave enough to try the sequel: Scrooge falls off the wagon and evicts 'em all! (Human nature being what it usually is...)

Dont have any screen shots but would add, the rich colour and sharpness of the print from Derann is outstanding it would leave the DVD version miles behind
another film of equal quality was this one and well worth looking out for.

I have "Prince and the Pauper" (it's letterboxed, by the way) and it's a smashing print which has something on it that none of the VHS, Laserdisc or DVD versions have ...
... about a minute or so of the "intermission" sequence, as this was shown originally before "Rescuers Down Under". It features the two Mickey's playing practical jokes on the "teacher" from the "Pauper" and then the countdown begins.

Grant. Here as promised is a little clip of the Derann MCC film in which I hope you can see the sort of colour we got on this super print and my own print has seen many screenings both here and out and about.
