Hi lads, I agree with John Clancy regarding Phil Sheards mag, the old adage "If you don't use it,you lose it!"I received mine on Saturday and for a first issue it's most impressive, true there aren't many ads but it is issue 1 and that will certainly change. The reason Deranns mag became dire was that it didn't allow other people to push product that they thought was in competition with them.As for a lack of articles I despair as it does go against the grain when you take time to write literate and researched stuff to be fobbed off with half baked excuses as to why your item hasn't appeared and then listen to the whining from the Derann camp that it's our mag and they need our support.Well, in my humble opinion Film for the Collector suffered a body blow when Dave Worrall left and a double whammy when poor Derek died thus the mag quickly became a Staff magazine. I am of the belief that had Derek Simmonds been alive that business would still be here in one form or another,I've known Derek for more years than I care to remember and one thing he was,he was a business man and a very good business man remember when Kodak stopped pre striped film, it didn't stop "Del boy" Simmonds,we were his bread and butter and he knew that but it is a two way street and he depended on our support.Well unfortunately Derek has gone but we still have a man who has invested in this hobby of ours and I think it's time to show some support for PHIL SHEARD who repeatedly sticks his neck out and I don't think a few pounds a year is asking too much to subscribe to a cracking little mag.Over to you gentlemen.
