Thanks for your feedback. I have just sent two other pictures to Doug. I hope he will accept to take the time to post them here.

Well it would seem like a factory option to me, my GS-800 has a plastic plug where his antenna is.

Zechariah's comment prompted me to lift mine out of its box. Sure enough, it's got a plastic plug.

Would be cool to use for a "drive in" scenario were people could sit in their cars and tune into a station to hear the movie. Too bad the USA radios don't get that frequency...

Having seen the second latest photo, obviously that is not a custom made order.

It is a factory made.

Cool....! [Cool]

Agreed!

Maybe it's a prototype or a machine that was only sold in Japan.

It's a rare bird either way!

As I know Japanese,...they will not sell locally without their Kanjis (Japanese characters).

Photos above does not show any Kanji, so i believe this is not for local market (only)

Point taken!

It's interesting that this never showed up on the GS-1200, being the flagship of the line.

Maybe this machine was the trial balloon that didn't quite fly. Otherwise we might have GS-1200s with broadcast ability.

A few years ago a specially built ST-180 showed up here that was R8 only and silent.

-This is much more interesting than even that!
