I was very surprised to see this scope 4 x 400 "low fade" reelease listed on eBay:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Super8-Feature-The-Singer-Not-The-Song-SCOPE-/251789932031?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&hash=item3a9fd975ff

There are very few scope films in that format so I would have expected to have come across this before. Does anyone know who released it?

You should ask Jason for details. He's selling it.

I think it was PM Films (Beaconsfield) as I have a Sept 1979 newsletter, which shows it on the front page as one of their new releases, Scope only 8 reel £104.25p

That's about £700 in today's money! That was one wealthy enthusiast whoever purchased this print brand new in 1979.

WOW!!!

This film brings back memories - I saw it at a Drive-in in Hollywood in 1962 when I was going to film school at UCLA with a classmate. She went to bigger things in the movie industry and I went to produce commercials in NYC.

Needless to say, I didn't see much of the movie the first time around but caught it later at the Westlake theater across from MacArthur Park in Los Angeles.

The print is in my collection and I'll probably never part with it.

I loved the movie too!!

Wow!

Jon

I hadn't found an order from when I posted that price, their Mail Order bulk buy discount would have reduced that price by £3. . However I don't think it was the most title as by August 1981 it had been discontinued and the last copies were discounted at £69.95, less £2 mail order. Very good value compared with the new imported 400ft versions like Logan's Run, French Connection etc which were £32.65.
