I got a lot of projectors with super8 films and as it turns out some of the films are rated. I am not really a film collector anyway so I wanted to sell them via ebay but it looks like they would not let me - actually logical as I can not check the age of the buyer.
Maybe I could sell via this forum after check of age or does anybody know another place where this would be possible?
The films are:
Der Fürst der grünen Drachen (part of The Invincible Super Chan)
Sonny Chiba - Der unerbittliche Vollstrecker (Return of the Street Fighter)
Die blutgierigen Teufel (Beast of Blood)
All films are about 120m, are dubbed in German (magnetic sound) and have a few running scratches; the first two are b/w the third one is colour with not much of the colours left (mostly redish, green).
Usually I would just dump them but I know that there is people out there who enjoy such films; and I have to admit that parts of them are so badly done that it is amusing.

Hi Alex, did you mean your films are X Rated or rated R for Violence?

Having seen the title it seems to me that they are Kung Fu (Martial Acts) films, so I think you are freely to sell on Ebay. If it is rated R for violence it is also OK. "Coffy" from Ken Films is rated R and this title was sold many times on Ebay.

cheers,

Hi,

just try mediavana.de and filmundo.de. Both have got "18 years and above"-sections for such x/r-rated movies.

I actually don't know what ratings they have. Ebay must have an automatic control, which I found out about when I wanted to put on "The Invincible Super Chan"; I got a message that it is not allowed to sell films, etc. that can be of bad influence on young people.
Thank you Jörg for your advice, I'll try there!

Ok ALex,

I believe you were trying to list them on Ebay.de or your home Ebay, which I found to be extremely sensitive with this violence movies. I have found the on mediavana.de the 18+ films are not necessarily related to sex movies.

But Alex, if you try Ebay.com, Ibelieve those kind of movies are OK to be listed there.

cheers,

Most people don't know this (and I suspect ebay wants it that way) but eBay has an "Adults only" section (read as: "porn section"). You have to go to the "Buy" page which lists the categories, scroll way down to the bottom and click on the "Adults Only" link. I think you need a bank account or credit card on file with ebay to view the section.

I realize this isn't the answer to the original post, but I thought I'd post it anyway for future reference in case anyone wants to sell such material since the subject came up.

On Australia ebay there are many "R" rated 8mm sex films for sale. The ads are cleverin their wording, but you certainly know what they are.

Well, there is surely a difference between ebay.com and ebay.de: in the German version there is no adult section; also I am not allowed into this American section through my Austrian account. It wouldn't make any sense anyway as nobody in the US will be interested in German dubbed films.
I am sure many of you have already noticed: ebay is everything else but global: the sections on different local ebays are not matched, so when I go to "Super8" on German ebay I only see stuff from Germany and Austria even when I put in "worldwide". This makes it extremely difficult to browse sections that you are interested in in countries with a language you don't know.
It's also not possible to put an item into the appropriate section of your country and into the fitting section of another country (I tried with Germany and UK). I'm sorry to say but they have not got a good system there.
Anyway: I put my films on one of the German sites mentioned above and it's an OK system: they ask you for your scanned ID and only then you are allowed into the adult section (parents, keep your IDs away from your children!).

Ales,

I understand now that the rules between one Ebayh to another Ebay is different. It will subject to respective domestic laws and regulations. It is similar to Paypal.

Anyway, just for your info that with my Ebay Indonesia ID, I can basically list my items in anywhere.

Another info, if you would like to see global Ebay, you can visiti http://global.ebay.com/

cheers,
