Hi,

I'm currently looking for a Super 8 trailer of 2001: A Space Odyssey. Could also be a digest depending on the price.

What would be a decent price for a trailer or digest for this title? I'm thinking I'd be able to pay around $20-30 for a trailer.

I'm new in the collecting-game, so please tell me if my price range is way off.

Thanks! [Smile]

I saw this on Ebay. The seller isn`t sure if it is the trailer or digest. If you ask him to take it out of the box and post a picture of the reel then maybe that would help you determine if its a short trailer or a digest.

That's a trailer. It looks like a 70s or early 80s release so it might have suffered some fade unless the seller can confirm otherwise. Derann also released a scope trailer in the low fade era, which I have but isn't for sale, I'm afraid. $20 to $30 is a fair price if you can find one, even allowing for it being a longer than average trailer. There's no digest but it was released full length.

Thanks for all the great replies, and sorry for my late one, as it's been a busy few days...

Over $50 (including shipping to Europe) is a little much for me for the one trailer, and the reel with four trailers look cool too, but I'm currently only interested in the 2001-trailer, as this is one of my favorite films.

Mark, how much would your 2001 trailer cost me + shipping to Germany?

The film collection I'm just getting started on will be on 16mm, and I do own a 16mm print of 2001 which looks like it is low fade (I haven't been able to inspect the print yet, as it's located in the US, so I don't know what film stock it's on), just thought having a trailer on Super 8/8mm would be fun to have also. If you can go through the cells that have more colors than I can guess what stock is your 16mm copy. With that only sole color I guess it is Kodak SP.
