Would any of you techincal knowledgeable gentlemen know what the freqencey range off the magnetic stripe on SUPER 8 FILM is. Thanks

Hi Alex,
The specs for super 8 stereo magnetic stripe, recorded on the Eumig S938 Stereo projector are as follows:

Frequency range(at 18fps) 40 to 11,000 Hz
Signal to noise ratio Better than 50db
Wow and flutter less than 0.4%

This was calibrated at 18fps. At 24 fps the frequency response would be significantly better, probably above 13,000hz.

The specs for the Elmo GS1200 were published as:
Frequency response at 24fps 50hz to 13,500 hz
Signal to noise ratio 50 db track 1, 40 db track 2
wow/flutter less than 0.7%

These specs are far superior to anything you would get from 16mm mono optical sound which is about 100 to 6,000hz.
