The counters measure frames.

Here's a chart to determine how many feet.

Janice

I have a crush on you!

I want to see your projectors.

Run my fingers through your film.

Unwind your screen.

Do a splice or two with you.

And most of all.....check your film speed!

Sorry, I just couldn't hold back any more. [Eek!]

Most spools will have a printed gauge which you can align with the film, usually feet and metres are shown.

Projector counters vary. Some Eumig and Bolex counters count 18 frames units ie seconds at 18 frames/sec running speed. An example is the Bolex SM80 and Eumig 800 series. I don't know any amateur projectors that count feet or metres

Bauet T 610 has a digital frame counter. Eumig S 940 is the same but can convert the figure to mins e sec at the push of a botton (only for 18 fps, though).

Some Sankyo's film counters show a digit each for frames.

It seems that the Eumigs with the Sonomatic device (820, 822, 824) count individual frames.

Search eBay for "16mm frame counter", there are usually lots of these.
