Been watching some old 9-5 colour films and its surprising just how well the colour has held up for all these years. Anyone else looking at colour home movies?

Lee, weren't most of them kodachrome? That has to be one of the saddest passings....

Got some Dufaycolour otherwise known as Duff colour.
Also got quite a bit of Ferrania which is my favourite to view and so easy on the eyes and simply glorious. In more recent years people have been using Ektachrome, Kodachrome, Velvia and the Photoworld stock which is 100D.

Good to hear that Ferrania was a good stock as they may come back on the film market next year.

Hi Lee, I also acquired a short bit of Dufaycolour. It was the only colour film available for many years. and required a lot of light for projection. Have also used Kodachrome I and II, Gevacolour, Eastmancolor and of course the various versions of Ferrana that were available for us 9.5 ers. I used mainly the Ferrania because it was so much cheaper. I found the best processing was by our old friend Roy Salmons. I know that the Fuji stock is also superb from what I have seen, comparable to Kodachrome. Sadly, I can no longer afford to use it for my movie making. I must add that none of the colour stock I have used has faded. Ken Finch.

The filmstock available from Color City isn't cheap, indeed (but keep in mond that it is process paid, so if you compare with super 8 it is not overpriced, taken in account that the 9,5 market is smaller). What is overpriced is the post and packing costs when you order from abroad (so from another country than France), espeacially for 3x8,20 m boxes. This is because the website automatically calculates high costs. I reported this and they are working on correcting it but it is taking more time than expected. A more reasonnable post and packing rate can be obtained by ordering via e-mail (or by phone) rather that through the site. By the way, I saw 14 meters boxes (for chargers) but they are not advertised on the site, so I don't know if they make a lot of boxes with this lenght.
