Just curious as to whether or not there were digests released of any of the following on 400ft reels:

La Grande Vadrouille
Dr. Strangelove
2001: A Space Odyssey
Paths of Glory
The Pink Panther (or any other in the film series)
The Song Remains The Same
Goldfinger (Or any other in the Bond series)
The Mouse That Roared
Casablanca
Dark Passage

Hi Ernie, Led Zep's The Song Remains The Same was released as a rather short 400footer. don't know about the others.

I think that MGM released a 400 footer of "2001 A Space Odyssey"

Ah, Goldfinger... Seen two prints of it... but they're the full feature, not a digest... Missed out on both of them, too... Still kind of beating myself up over them. That said, not aware of any other Bond digests...

Kevin,
Must say I have doubts about a 2001 digest. I'd buy one if I could but I've never come across one in over 20 years of collecting.

Ernie,

Except for "The Song Remains The Same" (as Mal said) I don't believe any of the other titles were released as digests. Even as features, I have only seen "2001: A Space Odyssey", "Goldfinger", "Casablanca" and possibly "Dr. Strangelove" in Super 8mm.
In the Bond category, Classic Home Cinema has just released the pre-title action sequences from "Goldeneye" & "Living Daylights", both in scope.

I think there's room for just one more film.....

Thanks for the info. I've seen the trailer for 2001 and Deran has 2010 as A feature but defiantely not the same movie. [Wink]

Voilą,

"La Grande Vadrouille" 2 x 400 feet, released in 1975.
First prints on acetate filmstock, later polyester prints available. Unfortunately german dubbed only.

Adrian, Doug has seen it as well. I'm sure that 2001 was about over here in the UK too.

Hello All,

There was a Cineavision F/L Scope print of "2001" and Ken Films released a full frame pan and scan F/L print too. On the Bond front "L.A. Films" released a reel (400') with extracts from some of the Bond movies (this comes up from time to time on dealers lists) - I remember the "Little Nell" helicopter sequence was included on the reel.
