Hey, Mike Peckham, you might be able to give me a little info on this title, (as well as anybody else out there)

Back when I originally collected in the late 80's a goodfella in the super 8 realms, sent me a FEATURE FILM of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" I remember that the focus was mrginal, to say the least, the sound was adequete, and I remember the color was somewhat bluish but all the color was there. I remember, I ended up sending it back to the fella, but I was always curious about it, as even then, I knew that beggar had to be bootleg. Any info on this title from anyone? Who were these "men of mystery" that gave us these illegal (but welcome) titles on super 8?!

enquiring minds want to know

One guy that had the equipment (and several visits from the FBI) was Tom Donohue of Thunderbird Films. It's possible that the title was an Ektachrome reduction print--something that would have been possible back then.

You must have had a good relationship with the dealer since these titles were not "offered" due to the heavy FBI investigations into film piracy at the time.

I'm betting that it was taken from a 16mm original, as I've never seen a 35mm print giving that poor of focus. It was a neat curio from back then and I kind of wish I had bought it. It was 100.00 dollars. The film wasn't from Tom Donahue, at least not directly. I'd like to say the name, but I don't want to jeporadize then indivisual, in case out wonderful FBI is listening, (oooooh spooky!)

Dear Osi,
This topic had ever been discussed in an old thread http://8mmforum.film-tech.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=001214#000000

I think some of the links provided are still alive.

Thanks

There was also a guy on the west coast named "Steve Vilarino", that was selling some of those super 8 forbidden fruits at that time (like Disney features).

He was still in business into the mid-90's, but then vanished.

Nick.
