Hello

Just had a quick look at Deranns film list that Kevin posted over on the films for sale board, and spotted their note about new releases:

quote:
NEW RELEASES!!
The highly sought after ‘Wallace & Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit’ trailer plus the wonderful BBC ’Future Generations & The Runnaway Railway’ are now in stock and details of prices are inside this newsletter.
Also arriving will be ‘The Madagascar Penguins in A Christmas Caper’. This is a wickedly funny eleven minute CGI animated short that was shown along with the ’Wallace and Gromit’ feature and stars the four psychotic penguins, that made us laugh so much in the feature “Madagascar” Details once again are inside this newsletter.

Have to say I'm very pleased that the Madagascar Penguins Christmas Caper has been released. When I saw this at the cinema it struck me that it would make an ideal 2 - 400 fter on super 8 and here it is!

I shall be ordering my copy when I get back to the UK, in the mean time if any one else buys one it would be good to see a review...

What a shame that we only have the trailor for the Wallace and Grommit movie, this would make an excellant super 8 feature release...

So let's take a poll......

Who would purchase a full length print of "Wallace & Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit"?

Me.

Mike, do you want me to buy two prints? That way you get a first run print. I will keep it safe until you return.

I'd certainly buy one, I reckon this would be a perfect subject for release on super 8!

Craig, nice offer, in the unlikely event that this film gets released on 8 and it all happens before I get back to the UK then you might be hearing from me [Big Grin] .

Brad- Deranns WEB site, go to "newsletter", all the updates are there.

Mike (welcome back [Cool] )-

I agree, "Wallace & Grommet: Curse..." would be the perfect super 8 release!

It runs under 90 minutes, so would fit nicely onto 3 x 600 foot reels.

Derann could even try a new sales approach- offer the option of buying each reel separate, maybe even put them in nicer boxes with nice bookends (volume 1, volume 2....)

For me personally, its alot easier to spend 100 dollars at a time than 3 or 4 hundred dollars for a new full length feature.

Put me down for one! [Smile]

Nick.

I would definitely buy Wallace and Gromit on Super 8 as a feature. I LOVED that film. The little rabbits were the best when they beat their chests and howled at the moon!

I would not be suprised if Derann is waiting to see how many people purchase the W&G trailer, in order to see how seriously they should consider the feature as a release on super 8.

I hope as well, that they'll release this on super 8 (the feature, that is.)

Don't get too carried away chaps as I haven't seen or heard of a possible master for the Wallace and Grommit feature. And I've been looking out for one because so many people expressed an interest. It is therefore an unlikely release but you never know.

Hello to all,

after the full feature of M&C it would be nice to get mor from Derann. I also have the trailer of Walace and Gromit and last friday I order the madagascar penguins.

I think the full feature of Walace and Gromit is a good titel for S8. Here in Germany are some people they like the film.

For my own I want to buy a print.

Greetings
Ralf

Hi to all,
I ordered Future Generations and the Madagascar penguins last week. And I also would buy the feature of "W&G Curse of the Were-Rabbit". Recommended this title already to Gary last week. Any chance, Derann? [Wink]

I vote "Aye" for Wallace and Gromit. However, I vote "Aye" squared for "The Incredibles" (Even just a 'scope trailer would be great!)

I'm surprised no one has mentioned that latest "Matrix Revolutions" extract from Derann. I think it is entitled "Attack of the Sentinels".

Keith tells me the Madagascar Penguins reel has very good print quality.

By the way, with regards to the latest Matrix extract (approx. 500ft) I couldn't detect any movement on the print, no neg dust and not a single mark anywhere. As much as I don't care for the Matrix films this does look good on the Super 8 'Scope frame, has pretty good stereo sound and grows on you after a couple of viewings.

Do you collect 16mm? If so, check out: http://www.robbiesreels.com/trailers.htm

Hi Adrian,
also a nice idea for a new S8 feature. I know about a few collectors here in Germany who are interested in "The Incredibles". But there are also potential byers for the new W&G. [Big Grin]

John, I didn't find any information in the current Derann newsletters about this new Matrix extract. [Confused]

My Goodness Adrian!,

Thanks for the link. I don't collect 16mm, but now I'm more tempted than ever!

Imagine this coming to a screen near you: (I mean really near!)

http://www.pixar.com/theater/trailers/incredibles/ttrailer_480.html

I thought "Penguins" would be great on Super-8 from the moment I saw it. Hats off to Derann!

Perhaps it's not advertized yet Uwe. I currently have a review copy and generally when that turns up the release prints are about to go on sale. From Mr. Wilton's accounts the latest batch of releases from Derann are all good and I can confirm this Matrix reel is no different.

I believe the new "Matrix" extract is being released around the time of the BFCC in Ealing, which is MAY 20th, isn't it John, that's why there's been no mention from Derann about it yet!
