Yes, I have one and it is the one on the left. The only trouble is that so far I've been unable to find any recently produced rolls of Std 8 tape so I wonder if it is still made? Derann had a few but it looked like pretty old stock.
If anyone knows of a source of new rolls, please let me know. I know it's no problem getting Super 8 rolls, but these are not wide enough for Std 8 use.

Thanks Adrian, so you'd think no more tape is made for the Std 8 splicers? And why are the Sup.8 ones not good enough? I assume it's the width of the perforation-if this is so,can 16mm tape be used, as it's got the same perforation with std 8?

Thanks, David, that's good news. I very much doubt if any shop in the UK has recently-produced stock as the main importer of CIR splicers in London stocks their own brand of Super 8/16mm/35mm tape but no Std 8. Even if a 16mm roll fitted on the splicer, I think the problem would be that the three punches would not cut through all the tape.

Yes Adrian. I think you're probably right. I tried a bit of 16mm splicing tape some time back, but it wasn't very successful.
Amsterdam is definitely the way to go.
I don't know where he gets his supplies from, but the shop is an absolute Aladdin's cave. You can also still get Fuji perforated super 8 splicing tape there. I had to keep my hands firmly in my pockets - otherwise there wouldn't have been enough money to finish our holiday. !! That wouldn't have pleaased Carol!

Valves and celluloid - a great combination! Early technology rules OK!
