Yeah, I think it might be possible on super 8 optical too. I have been amazed at what I've found on super 8 optical, (especially when it comes to obscure films from the 70's and early 80's), but it does make sense when you consider it was just standard practice to release a current film in as many venues as possible. and in the 1970's it was still the only way you could see a current film, in the theaters. People today don't realize that until the 80's, the only way you enjoy a Hollywood film in your own home, is either hope to see it on the TV, or get a shortened digest (in most cases) on super 8, or, if you were really lucky, you were already collecting 16MM for your own home, in which case, you had many more titles (features) to pick from.
But back to optical super 8, this is why I never give up hope of finding, for instance, "Dragonslayer" for instance, on super 8 optical. Any film released between the years 1965 (I think) up through 1989, there is a chance that it will be on super 8 optical.
