Greetings,

After dinner and a Tryptophan induced nap I decided to fire up the Bolex 18-5 I took delivery on yesterday. I quickly set it up and threaded a recent vintage home movie purchase. The projector sits behind me to my left, looking back at the end of the movie and into a bare white light I noticed that the front optic of the lens seemed to be cloudy. I removed the lens and viewed it through a lamp bulb but did not notice any clouding. I cleaned the elements I had access to and put the lens back into the projector. I turned on the projector to bulb without a movie and again the front optic seemed cloudy / smeered. Is this normal or is the lens cloudy but only noticable under strong light and not visible to the naked eye. The home movie I was viewing did not have that crisp focus but then again with amateur home movies you never know what your going to get…….

Happy Turkey Day,

Bill
