Hello all,

I'm looking to achieve a specific effect that I'm sure most of you are familiar with. The effect is when light spills onto the film and creates a glow of various colours. I'd like to try to do that but on purpose. I'm looking to have some different colour options for each take and different speeds of the glow coming in and out, and different movements. I'd like to shoot on either all black or all white backgrounds.

If anyone knows how to purposely create this effect, and the factors that are involved in creating the different images types I would be very happy to hear what you know. The only idea I have right now is to open the 8mm loading door a little and let some light in through the side.

Thanks you,
David
