A friend of mine asked me tonight if this movie has ever been issued on 8mm. I was not in a position to tell him. But I'm sure someone of you will.

He is looking for this film (did you know it is based on Shakespeare's 'THE TEMPEST'?) he is in love with (not actually available in Italy, where it was translated into 'SENZA DI LORO L'INFERNO E' VUOTO' and was released censored). Well, I was told by him an English DVD will be ok anyway. I think he's crazy for Martine Carol [Razz] ...

Just let me know, in case. I will appreciate all help.

Uhm...
Another friend of mine asked me if I have any news about all releases of THE FORBIDDEN PLANET. I don't know anything about this movie.

Anybody in a position to help me, please? Thanks.

Derann released Forbidden Planet but it is a flat print. They exist few scope prints from Animax (I´m not sure if the name of this company is correct???).

Red Fox Films originally released "Forbidden Planet". I believe that is the negative Derann is using.

Doug ...

This is an interesting subject, (sorry, not about "Hell is Empty"), concerning "Forbidden Planet."' I had also heard that perhaps four test prints were struck of Forbidden Planet in scope, but of course, were never sold on the market. SOmeone has them.

There was a big ole hoopla on another film forum, where a frella bought a rare feature print of "FP" (well call it that for now on in this post), as the seller conveniently didn't ship it, and the poor fella was out somke 600 dollars I believe. It was really bid up.

What was interesting, was that the print appeared to be a "partial scope" print. That is, it wasn't a full anamorphic scope print, but it was squeezed to an extant. I've heard of some prints that were done in this format. Earlier on on VHS, you would see these occasinally marketed.

For instance, I had a VHS, years ago, of "Mad Max", and the source print they used wasn't squeezed out, but when I used my Super 8 scope lense to try to "eye-piece" watch it, it was too squeezed, so it was a different ratio than the classic anamorphic scope.

The "FP" super 8 print appeared to be so as well.

Any positions on this?
