I have only just started collecting again after a break of about 30 years, but my favorite trailer that I have is:-

Mel Brooks - History of the World Part 1.

Made me laugh out loud when I saw the trailer in the cinema - in fact it still makes me laugh out loud.

I assume we are referring to trailers on super 8?

In that case, mine are-

-Blade Runner
-Rollerball
-Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things
-Star Trek (new one from CHC).

I really like mostly all of my trailers, but those are stand-outs.

James.

Daniel. This was a trailer bought many years ago ( probably 30 ) from Hingston Films, Stewkley, Bucks. Sad to say that both Mr. Greenslade who owned the film library and the film library itself, have long departed!

Let's see...

Thinking about recent movies, I must say SIGNS (2002) and KING KING (2005), both in scope - CHC issues, in my opinion are great.

Moreover, SNOW WHITE (Disney himself introducing the seven Dwarfs) and FANTASIA (1940 original trailer) are wonderful too!

Not too bad the German editions issued for MARY POPPINS (1964 original trailer) and Pixar's THE INCLEDIBLES.

Graham, are you referring to the original SONG OF THE SOUTH trailer or to the 80's (1986) re-release issued by Derann?

Hi Graham.
I wonder whether it is the same I own or a different one I did not know about. I'll take some pictures when next screening and supply them to you, if it is ok.
Ciao and thanks for your reply.

BTW, if I well remember, the one I have in my collection should be the following:

Song of the South 1986 re-release trailer

Thanks a lot [Wink] .

Sorry I'm taking advantage of this thread, fellas.

While I'm thinking about this...

Daniel: I wondered who released the Black Narcissus trailer? Was it released on its own or (e.g.) part of a Thunderbird reel?
Patrick: I wondered the same as above with regard to The Swarm.
James: Is the new Start Trek trailer definately available from CHC now? I was starting to lose hope of any of the most recent ones to be announced actually appearing.

Gian
You have just made me watch some Super8 films, [Wink] as "Song Of The South" is on a 600ft reel with other stuff that I have not seen a while, on this... my.. oh.. my.. its a wonderful summers day [Big Grin] .

The trl I have is dated Sept 21st 1984 two years before the Re-release one shown on You-tube. The one I have has less colour more towards blue, however the soundtrack is totally different and has the original voices which the 86 re-release does not appear to have and thats a pity, although some of the scenes are the same the trl is different visual wise eg in this one Brer Rabbit is going to get his head knocked off in the 86 trl that scene is not there.

While I was watching this 600ft reel [Roll Eyes] it included the original "Snow White" trl and is one I would highly recommend.
 -

 -
Which includes an introduction by Walt Disney.

Well if anyone has the "Song Of The South" trl it goes on very nicely in front of the Disney Super8 extract "Brer Rabbit and the Tar Baby" I just cant resist to post this photo even though its of topic hope you dont mind, it was on the 600ft reel I was running.
 -
certainly one of the best extracts and with rich colours.

Graham. [Smile]

I like the 1998 teaser for Godzilla were the kids are at the museum looking at the T. Rex skeleton and BAM....

The Untouchables in scope...awesome!
A Fistful of Dollars in scope
Psycho(1960)...clever!

Graham, thanks for your post.
Considering your description, I confirm the trailer we are talking about is the same I have (blue cast to the color, sequences a little different if compared to the YouTube one etc.). I now remember the 'soundtrack' is not the same, if compared to the one linked.

Thanks for all details.
And your pics are simply great. I like the SNOW WHITE trailer: I was referring to that one, in my previous post.

My compliments also for THE TAR BABY. It seems to be a good copy. Thanks once more. There is no question; no other versions of SONG OF THE SOUTH trailer exist (I'm after all Dinsey's as all members know. I had thought I missed one, for a while!!!).

Grazie!
