Greetings everyone...

Have been doing some editing lately and am getting a bit annoyed by the scratches (never ending black lines on screen) on some of my films.

Is there any safe way to remove or at least tone them down? Polishing? Silicone? Turtle wax?? [Wink]

I've used Filmrenew and have gotten quite a bit of filth off of the film but those darn scratches seem unlikely to go away!

Also, do I need to lube my projector's film path?

Chad,

I feel there's no permanent way to get rid of black scratches. Depending on the depth of the scratch they can disappear or be diminished during screenings when using wet gate projection.
Please check out this thread about using Roy Neil's Film-O-Clean attachment.

As for your second question, I use FilmGuard and cotton swabs to clean the film path of my projectors.

Doug
