Hi I bought a Sankyo 1000 recently , The auto load works but the take up real stops soon afterwards . Could this be the the take up real belt slightly stretched ? All help appreciated thanks

You most likely need a new motor belt. Just unscrew the two screws on the back of the projector ... remove the back... and examine the belt. Watch this video I made on replacing the belt. I also give dimensions for an o-ring replacement or you can just order one off eBay.
