The spring in the back of my projector let go this afternoon. I was able to connect each end of the spring but I am having a hard time figuring out how to run the spring around the spools. If anyone had pics or can help it would be greatly appreciated.

If you are referring to the metal spring belt connecting the spindles...here are pictures from my machine.

If you compare the position of your belt to the photo I posted...it looks like you need to put the belt back on the large roller.

Thanks Janice! I tried positioning it in the position you suggested. The problem is that when I select forward neither spools move and when I select reverse both spools move in opposite directions. So confused.

Here's a picture from another projector...I have 4 of these... and this angle is clearer where the belt is attached.

I strung the belt using the pics you provided...I thank you. Something else must be wrong. My father is good with electronics hopefully he'll be able to help.

It's possible that there is something wrong with the selector switch...loose or broken wiring.

Hi Rit,

"when I select forward neither spools move and when I select reverse both spools move in opposite directions"

This would indicate to me that the spring cable needs to be flipped 180 degrees at one of the spindles, front or rear, can't tell by your pics.

Both spindles are controlled by a directional clutch. They are working at the same time instead of in turn. So if you change the direction of rotation at one spindle, it should fix the problem.

Good luck with fixing it & let us know how you go.
