You know how we always say one of the aspects of this hobby is getting that list drop on the door step, finding what you want on it and then waiting until Monday, (or in this case Friday), to ring the dealer only to be dissapointed that your item is gone? Well, this time i got it, From Phil @ Classic i spotted this rare scope 200 footer of the excellent Pathe news reel The Beatle come to town, i was expecting it to be red but this item never did have brilliant colours and this one i think for its age is superb, the images shown do not do it justice but this is a great find and we are very pleased to have got hold of this rare scope release.

Nice Find Tom,

I have the flat version. I bought it from Derann brand new about 5 years ago and still consider it something special in my collection.

I brought it to Cinesea a few years ago for the Saturday night show and we had to stash it because everyone that saw it asked if it was for sale. (No!)

(Kind of frightening to consider that pretty blonde in your picture is probably about 70 now...)

[Big Grin] that is a thought. How is the colour on yours?

Color and sound are excellent!

I go to bed about 90 minutes later than the rest of the household and often show a reel or two then: with several thousand screaming teenage girls on the soundtrack I really have to mind my volume!

I have the Derann version too. Never realized this came from a scope source.

It's a shame they didn't keep it 'scope too!

What's interesting is to remember that this show happened in November of 1963, so this film is basically a window looking 50 years back.

Rekindling this topic, there appears to be another version. I have had the 4x3 version for a while. Recently, I acquired a widescreen (not scope) version. I was wondering if anyone knows who released this one?
