Similar enquiry as above.A few years ago I acquired about twenty super 8 animated shorts from a dealer, who told me that not even the person he bought them from, did know where them came from! They were all in blue reels,in blue plastic boxes, and are a mixture of "arty" (in opposition to "childrens'") films from Zagreb,Poland,Canada,Germany and Italy. They were issued in both magnetic and optical sound.Luckily, the person who had them put with each film a catalogue cutout with information. Obviously they must derive from some public service organisation,or -
ministry in Germany.Again, any more information (or even a catalogue [Big Grin] ) would be appreciated. I am including an example of the cutouts.

Hi Panayotis,

That dealer was just a fellow collector who needed a bit of space on his shelves.... Originally I bought a S8 print of Jiri Trnka's "The Hand" from a guy on the German Ebay. He told me he had a box full of other prints from the same source. I kept two handfuls of prints for myself and took the rest to Ealing at one of my clear-outs. You drove a hard bargain to take that box out of my hands!

I asked about the origin of these films on the forum here, and got a very good reply: Jiri Trnka on S8

I agree that this is great stuff. However, with a few exceptions, I don't end up watching these prints very often. Good to hear that the prints ended up in appreciative hands!
With more and more exciting 16mm prints becoming available, I'm focusing more and more on stuff that I really want. I need to let go of some prints that never come off the shelves anymore.
So, I might let go of another handful of these prints. If so, I'll let you know.

- Rob
