I saw this up for auction:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/291235546269?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Sounds too good to be true? Very possible.
This is the seller who used to be known as "Manofmind" I believe was the ebay handle. I purchased a Elmo GS Xenon from the seller a few years back. It was an estate sale as he states this auction was. I bid high (too high in retrospect) but a bid is a bid and I paid. A week turned into 2. Then 3. I finally told the seller if he wasn't going to ship it by the end of the week I would need my money back. He said it was for sure shipping that week. It didn't. I got my money back from him which was fine. I then asked him to let me know when he got the machine to drop me a line as I still wanted it. I never heard back from the seller.
Fast forward a few years later and I saw a Beaulieu 708 HTI for sale from an Ebay handle I didn't notice BUT the style of picture taking and presentation of the auction was identical.
I asked if this seller was the same as "Manofmind". If they were could they tell me what was wrong with the machine. I was told they were not the same seller as "Manofmind" and all they knew was that the machine only powered on but thats all they knew.
I purchase the projector and the damage was extensive. But 2 things stick out in my mind. 1) My repair person said it had been attempted repair and when it couldn't be done they didn't even put the parts back. The projector got even more damaged since the botched repair cause more parts to be damaged during shipment to my repair person!
2) In the bottom of the packing material were some papers and old receipts. And yes..it was the same seller as "Manofmind".
Beware purchasers. Bid with caution with this seller.

This all takes me back many (many) years to remind me of a seller from New York on US eBay who had a GS1200 which was a "Buy It Now" sale. The projector was, surprisingly, advertised as for use on European mains, was still in its original box, and was a "prize item."

Being a bit green (then) as to the world of eBay and its sellers I bought it. I should have been well aware of forthcoming problems when the seller wanted to be paid by Bank Transfer to an account in the island of Jersey, in the Channel Islands (between the UK and France.) Bells should have rung but they didn't.

For a while the emails flowed from the seller, all flowery and "my buddy", but the weeks went by and no projector arrived, the emails also dried up. I sent an email asking when I might receive it. The answer was that he thought I had received it weeks earlier as he had not heard from me.

The seller said it must have been lost in transit and he would contact his insurance company "to sorts things out".

That was the last I heard from him. eBay were no help saying the time was over the period of complaint, and furthermore as I didn't use PayPal they could do nothing for me.

A sad tale, and a loss of a lot of money for me. It's now all lost in the annals of time and I have no way of knowing who the "seller" was, but this current sale certainly rings a bell.

That is a very sad tale indeed Maurice! Those beauties are not cheap and this scumbag obviously conned you and probably many many others out of a lot of their honest hard earned cash!

I absolutely hate these scamming lazy lying creeps. I suppose working very hard for a living just like the rest of us is beyond these useless parasites!!

I was sorry to read your tale Alan and as someone else I know has also had a very expensive shave with said company 'the selling agent' giving zero help it should be said that particular place is nowhere to buy expensive items like this. It beggars belief how they can mess about dragging into weeks and get away with it and the whole system, some of which has been up and down some of the time is pretty much a washout. [Roll Eyes]

I understand that there must be a limit in time to complain but EBay should extend it if the buyer or the seller can show e-mail exchanges that show anything wrong. Especially when great amount is in a way or another lost by one of the parties.
