Hi group-- Just got this projector today. The main switch rotates through four positions. However, when the pointer indicates "stop position" the projector is actually in the "forward with lamp position". Rotating the switch counter-clockwise indicates all functions work--it's just the pointer is in the wrong place. Did not see a "set" screw on the switch. How do I change the switch position? HELP-- THANKS-- Bruce

Hi Bruce,
The selector knob on this Eumig 810d should pull off the shaft. These plastic knobs often break where they slide onto the selector shaft. People attempt to glue & refit them and they are often not in the original position. They usually drop off soon after or they break again. The best thing to do is locate an unbroken knob from a forum member who may have a spare. When pushed on to the shaft it should locate with a lug to correctly line it up.
good luck looking for a knob.

Hello Dogtor Frank -- Thanks, I did not try to remove the selector knob. As per your suggestion I will prevail on a forum member for a spare and the "milled inching knob" is cracked, it to needs replacing. Now for the good news! Power has been applied and every thing works Tried a metal take up reel-- not one of my better ideas. As a matter of interest: The supply cord(power cord)is two prong where as the projector is wired for 3 prong. The ground connection is not used.?? Again thanks for the help.

Hi Bruce
I think you have been given the wrong cable. The power cable on these is normally earthed. A computer type 3 pin cable is what is needed. Better not use that 2 pin cable.

Power cable solved. My elmo used the correct 3 pin cable and it fits the Eumig. Continuing my eumig education: The front spindle (reel support) will only fit a regular 8mm reel while the rear (take-up) spindle only fits a super 8mm reel. Am I missing something here? I think I can use regular 8mm as is, but would like the option of super 8mm sound. Plan on watching Charlie Chaplin in GOLD RUSH tonight. Reg. 8mm with sound! Thanks for the help. I sure need it. You are missing an adapter that goes over the small hub to fit super 8mm reels. You can buy an adapter that goes in the super 8mm reel instead. Steve Osborne (The Reel Image) a forum member has them. His number is 937-296-9036.

The main know / switch for the Eumig 800 series is in many cases broken. Luckilly we 3D printing these are now again newly build! The new ones have a new design, so that they fit on all projectors in the 800 series!

There are a number of variations of this knob on Eumig machines, which have different "flats" on them. So if they are swapped between models the pointers often will not tally with the functions selected.I suspect that the broken knob of the first post was not the original on the machine.... it was from a different model entirely.
