For some unknown reason, when I wanted to go on Kodak France website I endend on a almost only English speaking site. The main page celebrates as said in the title of this thread the anniversary of the famous gauge. Nothing, sadly about new filmstock to come from Rochester (if they are still located there). So the mystery of the ste in English is not solved but I'm happy to see that Kodak has a thought for its baby.

Right on the Kodak home page right now, indeed nice to see their "baby" mentioned, if largely abandoned.

Huge irony: the video linked there (less than a minute long) celebrating film & Super 8 is full of all the visual intrusions that the Super 8 cartridge eliminated, showing the 8mm size full-width! It's all Standard 8 (probably added to digital or telecine footage in post-processing)! Specifically: between frame sprocket holes (rather than mid-frame), Std 8 picture geometry with wide hole area, hole-shaped fogging, end of roll fogging, and end-of-roll batch hole punches.

Just crazy.
