I have an old Kodak Instamatic M66 projector which runs only one way no matter in which position the switch is. I can't see what the problem is. Can anyone help me?

If you remove the back and post some photos it would be better.

As Pat suggest...take the back off and perhaps you can see if there is a problem with the belt(s). It could also be a switch problem. Have you had this projector awhile?....Did it initially run properly?

Hi Frans,
I don't know your projector, but it may only project one way...forward. There may not be a reverse projection option... You might have to let the whole film run through, and then rewind it threaded directly from the rear reel to the front reel....

Go to this site:
http://www.super8data.com/

Look up your make and model.

It is a forward projector only. Which means there is no rewind. You have to switch the reels to rewind the film.

Pat is correct...FORWARD ONLY.

Here's a direct link: http://www.super8data.com/database/projectors_list/projectors_kodak/kodak_instamatic_m66.htm

Strange, there is a knob on bottom right side with 2 arrows and a O (see the second picture). The user manual says:
"Reverse projection: sometimes special effect can be achieved by projecting a film in reverse. After a given scene has been been shown, turn the reversing knob to the left as far asit will go".

I can upload the manual if needed.

Frans...the Super8mm Database site unfortunately does not always have accurate information. Which may be the case with your model projector. I see the arrows you are referring to and the assumption would be that it would go in reverse as your manual describes.

As I mentioned previously...with the back removed you should observe the movement of the belt(s) and the take-up and supply gears to see how they are performing with the switch in forward and reverse position. If they look good...the selector switch may be dirty or a wire broken and not making contact. Sometimes just moving the switch back and forth will clean up any oxidation.

Hi all,

I have that projector and I think it has no reverse movement.

For other reasons I am not able to run the machine. The film is trapped in the pressure plate.

But I do not exactly to run it because I have no user manual. So I would appreciate very much I you could upload the user manual.

Thank you

Luis

Hi,

I have this projector. It has a reverse option, with that switch button that you can see on the picture (arrows and "o").

At first I though it was broken because it runs backwards when no film is loaded. But when you load the film, it runs normally, and the switch works only when a film is loaded !
