Hi all,
Today I got my copy of Invaders From Mars (1953) on Super 8mm with beautiful colours and sound.
It is on a 400ft reel and has no titles at the start.
It runs for about 14.5mins and appears to be the last part of the film.
Could it actually be the last reel in a set of reels?
Does anyone own this and can enlighten me?
Cheers [Smile]

Clinton, it sounds like you have the last 400ft reel of the Mountain Films 4 x 400ft feature.

It also may be from the Red Fox feature. When it was released on super 8 Red Fox had the exclusive rights, at least here in the USA. Check for info on the leader and tail if they are original...

Yes Stuart, I think it might be the last reel of a complete movie release. At least it's the ending and not a middle section [Smile]
And Joe,it doesn't have the original leader but I will check the end film [Smile]

we also had this 400 ft version in colour, it was excellent quality to, there was a short snippet of the original titles then it was as said the last reel of the feature, it was never a proper cut down. [Wink]

I had the B&W 400ft version from Mountain Films and it was also as Tom says, the last part of the feature...bit lazy to say the least, but still great fun.

The film doesn't have its original leader but does have its original tail.
Here's all the markings shown but I don't think it tells us anything?
