Hi. I have a bell and howell 33sr. The speed switch doesn't work anymore and it's stuck playing fast. Does anyone have any ideas please. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum Mark! I don't have a schematic for the 33SR...but I had a similar problem with a Sankyo 600. I solved the speed issue by replacing a 1000uf capacitor and the power transistor.

There are 2 pots that can adjust the speed for the 18fps and the 24fps depending on the switch position. See if turning these makes any speed change. If not then most likely a component is bad.

Visually check all the capacitors to see if any look bad or buldging. Although even if they look ok...they may not be good. Not sure...but I'm thinking that large 1000uf might be the one connected to the speed circuit. You really need to remove the capacitor to check it with a capacitor meter. You should remove the power transistor and check it also.
