No dealings with the guy and therefore nothing against the person whatsoever Mark. But I do follow what the "dealer" sells and cannot help but observe all the "flannel" that comes with each description, especially projectors (and I am not the first on here to have said so). All that I follow with interest (mainly Bauer) have extortionate prices (IMO) and descriptions that border on being ridiculous (IMO) at times. Take the luminosity description of the 610 for example. Anyone in the hobby looking for high priced, high end gear, knows their stuff already, so why blow things up all out of proportion in a description.
I find, whoever uses "sales tactics" like these, wherever in life, quite frankly, distasteful as it feels to me like an attempt to insult our intelligence. Nothing personal, I just like a spade to be called a spade.
If I was buying a Bauer nowadays, what I want to know and read is it's service history on the particular machine (new cam and claw, mag head replacement etc etc). Not some misleading statement claiming it has the brightness of a lighthouse!

Apologies Doug if you feel I have caused you or anyone else a problem with any post. I didn't however act in the manner you are suggesting as I spend hours(when I get the chance) going through past posts of interest to me, so nothing was done for the sole purpose of posting a derogatory post. Also I don't see an insult on anything I posted, sarcasm maybe, opinion yes, but certainly no insult.
It would appear the only way forward on future posts is to end every "opinionated" post with the words IMHO. Perhaps then nobody will take any exception to anything anyone ever posts of an opinionated nature. I for sure will be doing just that from here on in.
Should I now feel "insulted" by being told that "I give the hobby a bad name?" No, of course not, it's a forum, just a bit of fun and enlightenment, people can say whatever they like within reason. We are all grown ups on here I'd like to think just as Paul Browning quite correctly points out IN MY HUMBLE OPINION. [ September 19, 2014, 05:52 AM: Message edited by: Andrew Woodcock ]

Ok just to draw a line in the sand under this hopefully and also just to put the record straight and to respond to Paul's statement on these matters, I feel I have to just point out that the only points I questioned regarding Roberts posts which seemed to cause outcry were as follows:-
1/ That a Bauer T610 does not have a light output of 4000 to 6000 lumens (cannot remember the exact figure quoted as stated in my post but it was somewhere between these figures). The Bauer T610 is nowhere near as bright as my Panasonic video projector which is optimistically quoted as having a maximum brightness of 2200 lumens. Also that the asking price of these advertised, when seen, were the highest by some margin that I have ever seen for a none digital conversion T610 in Europe, since being back into the hobby.
2/ Secondly, I was asking the question to see what response would be generated as to whether or not films on stock that either has begun to fade or certainly will do soon eg Kodak SP, can or should command a price similar to that of a film of similar desirability (if not the same title) but on LPP or Agfa /Fuji low fade stock. That was it,. Nothing "constant", as this was the first response to any of this persons posts despite watching many items of his over many years.
Hopefully that clears that up. If it doesn't, I can do no more to explain my comments and the reasons why they were said, therefore I cannot and will not explain anymore on the matter.
As said previously, I wish Robert every success in his business and as also stated, I take my hat off to him and everyone else for that matter for what they contribute to the B.F.C.C. both past and present. [ September 23, 2014, 07:22 AM: Message edited by: Andrew Woodcock ]
