How to copy 8mm film to dvd using a telecine projector a Goldbeam model cpm-500 transfer box and a Canon GL2 3CCD camera. Just got the camera, because I could not control the color exposure with my Sony. Help.

Telecine is a huge subject and has been discussed all over the internet including this forum. I suggest you do some searching to get any detailed information.

You might want to look at this series of YouTube Videos. This guy uses a transfer box. You don't have to build a rig like his ...but it is interesting. I usually just prop the box on some book to make it even with the projector lens.

This is also an interesting video. He doesn't use a transfer box...but he does us a GL1 or GL2 camera.

Here's a video I made demoing a setup using a Goldline transfer box. Goldline isn't a great box, but it will work.

Here are setup videos of better transfer boxes I found:

or Polestar

You don't mention what kind of telecine projector you have. This makes a difference in providing any feedback. I am familiar with the GL2 and it is a good choice for transferring film to SD format. Set the camera to 60fps or 30fps (which ever does a better job at eliminating flicker). Manually adjust exposure.
