What is happening to the price of the A1/258 (one with the side-pins)...seems to be going up and up. One dealer now wants £25 for one. I have a small stock, so it doesn't affect me, but it appears to be a very costly lamp.
I guess it's knowing whetre to get lamps...many years ago I needed an A1/7 500w lamp for an old standard 8 machine. The high street stores wanted £20+ but then when I discovered Amateur Cine Enthusiast magazine (long gone) I found the same lamp at a fiver!

By the time you've bought a few lamps for your newly purchased Bell & Howell, and replaced the worm (unless you can do it yourself), it will have cost an arm and a leg.
However, all is not lost. In the latest issue of "International Movie Making" there is an ad on page 58 for the A1/258 at £10.
