does any company manufacture these in quantities anymore, maybe in japan?

I think Bell & Howell were the only projector manufacturer using the EMM or A1/258 and they changed to A1/259 some time in the early 80s. I don't think the demand is there any more whereas the A1/259 is still used for other applications. The prices asked for A1/258 suggest that there is only limited supply out there.
