The most iconic building in Neath town is the Victorian era Gwyn Hall. Five years ago it underwent a £multi-million refurb. Just weeks before it was due to re-open it was gutted by a fire (it's on You Tube).
Today, after being rebuilt again its doors were opened for the public to have a look round. The part that interested me was what they call the .Cinema pod'. I wasn't expecting too much but was very surprised to find a much larger screen than than I imagined plus very comfortable seating for 73 people with easy access for us less able customers. There was free admission today to watch a string of trailers, mostly in 3-D, the new Spiderman release looked very good albeit digital. Sadly there is no 35mm projection or tabs but it is good to have a cinema in town after a gap of 20 years.
The venue is just minutes from home so I wll be able to get there easily instead of traveling to Aberavon or Swansea. It's cheaper too at £6.50 per ticket.
