Well, that was not a good way to wake up.
6.0 centered in Napa, CA about 33 miles north of us. Fortunately just a lot of crooked paintings on the walls and no damage here. Napa sounds like a bit of a mess though.

I never felt anything here in Sunnyvale Clay other than my dad in Galt calling me at 4am. I guess there could be some after shocks in the next week...OH BOY! [Eek!]

I recall when on holiday in Oakhurst CA for Yosemite Park trips we had one, or rather Bishop did at the other side of the mountains.

We were just getting up, the best why to describe it was like a very large truck rumbling past the room causing the light to swing and pictures on the walls to move a bit. Very frightening and we were quite a long why from the main point.

I love the smell of film in the morning.

Yes Maurice, they are in the middle of harvest up there. Some infrastructure damage for sure, will have to see what effects that has.
Both twins slept through it Janice. I just layed there with that "okay, when are you going to stop" feeling.

Must be terrible to die under a pile of stones.

Joe, I "escaped" the earthquake that happened in Turkey a few years ago and made thousands of dead people. I was in the area that Summer but went to Syria for some days. Without having heard anything of the earthquake, I went back to Turkey just the day after it happened. Just imagining that you're traped under stones for hours or days and diying slowly like that is so scarrying.

I just found out that when my step dad called me at 4am he wasn't at his home in Galt (near Sacramento)...but in NAPA staying with a friend when the earthquake hit. The highway out of NAPA has been closed due to quake damage. He's hoping to return home today.

Every room in the house was a mess...but luckily no one was hurt.

Very good to hear that you and your fam are safe Janice! Too bad about the wine cabinet taking a hit.
