Greetings fellow film enthusiasts!
I have a Toshiba DLP rear projector TDP-XP2U that a white dot that has suddenly popped up on the screen. Also at the top of the screen there is one tiny one that is shiny that is flashing?
The bulb is fine so it's not a bulb issue. Has anyone experienced this same problem with their DLP projector?
Any advise on how I can fix it would be greatly appreciated!

I can only think it could be a stuck micro-mirror, staying permanently in the "on" positions and the other flapping around with no control.

Hi Brian, Thanks for your reply and is that something that I can fix myself? I know absolutely nothing about these projectors.

Agreed. A friend had a DLP Mitsubishi rear-projection TV that required a new DLP "engine" as the image was progressively becoming a blizzard of dots. Once on, never off.
I think that's why Mitsubishi got out of the TV business.

My friend's TV was far out of warranty but Mitsubishi supplied the new light engine free of charge. Only cost was installation. So some lawyers must have been involved at some point.
Just to say, check with the manufacturer before you trash it.
totally agree with Andrew...seriously, I been buying Panny's since 2002...they just get better and better. Obviously there are some others that are good too - the whole quality generally in digital projection is just sooo good!

Thanks for all the info. but the prices are pretty steep out there! Any suggestions on getting a decent DLP projector for a reasonable price? Any information on the subject would be greatly appreciated!
