Forum,
It's great that 8mmforum has accepted my application. Thank you. Also please forgive any of my incorrect naming of things. The issue at hand is with a Filmosound 2580a projector I bought. It creates a "film loop" or an excess of film spewing out during operation. The location of this loop is at the "loop reset" point. In other words, the film speed is too fast after the "gate". If I put the load lever in position 1 and run the film without the film being engaged by the various mechanisms, it runs fine without creating a growing loop of film under the gate. In position 1 the loop gets created. The audio also gets increasingly out of sync the longer the film is being ran through. What could be causing this difference in speed causing film to unravel at the loop reset point? Thanks.
