    Hi everybody,

I am looking for few parts for my Bauer P6 studio (1st generation 1971).

4 pin motor relay plate connector (A).

SEPMAG arm drive belt and SEPMAG gears (5712).

    Kind regards,

    Josh

    Hello Josh.....

Have you tried the German film site: https://www.filmvorfuehrer.de ? Look in the 'Schmalfilm' forum, create an account, and ask your questions there. However, look for a member of the forum there named GIZMO. He has a projector like yours and would possibly be able to help you. He helped me with my P6 Studio a few years ago. Sadly there are no parts floating around anymore, so be gentle with it. lol.

Remember, you need to lubricate the machine, especially the 'gripper' with the proper Fett before you use it a lot.

You do have a manual for it, right? A real challenge to dismantle.

There is a P6 for sale on USA eBay right now. But, you will still have problems finding the toothed belts (another story). I've given up on finding a toothed belt for the feed arm on the SEPMAG side. No one makes them anymore. So, if I run the projector in reverse, I have to hand wind the film up on the reel. 🙁

      Hi Charlie,

      Thanks for your reply.

I have not yet created an account on this website, but I have read all the topics I found concerning Gizmo's and other members adventures with their bauer double band projectors. I will get in touch with them !

Finally beside the belt, I found the gears parts from Van Eck, so at least I will be able to replace the gears from the sepmag, I already replaced all the drive belts and gears, that was not easy but I finally know this projector much more since. I can almost do it with eyes closed 😁 The 4 pin burned connector will be replaced with a molex, or directly soldered to the plate.

Lubrication will be done for sure, I need to find a small quantity of NB5051 lube for the shuttle felt lubrication system, I guess that's what you call "gripper" ? The lube is very expensive nowadays, especially on wittner website.

I already have all the service manuals from Olaf Kino website hopefully

I thought about using a 63 or 64 toothed t5 belt instead of the 62 original one, and add a tensioner. I have a spare 25fps belt tensioner from my other P6 studio that might do the job. It seems to be the only solution apart from hand winding in reverse. I still have an other original belt that is still in OK condition but will not last long.

This P6 for sale is quite expensive considering the high hours it has, mine is only 270h, this one is 1k ! I think people don't realize the amount of time and knowledge to make these machines run again.

I consider more and more servicing my Eiki 16mm sound follower and adding a motor drive with optical synchronization for stand alone use or with a projector, parts are way easier to find and simpler to service. But I will not give up with this Bauer.
