My experience with the TRV-16H is that it does scan at DVD resolution, rather than VHS resolution as the earlier TRV-16 units. This unit on eBay being from Canada is sure to be NTSC (720 x 480). These TRV units underscan the image a bit. So some of the image at the top, bottom and sides may be cropped slightly. The TRV-16H when adjusted and working properly can produce fine results.
