Thanks for all the info!. For a while, I actually had a 35 mm copy – – but it was the network copy that had the final bloody demise of Barnabas Collins cut. it was identical to the network airing – – and left the ending incomprehensible! It was like watching the climatic scenes of jaws reduced to three short shots— And did the credits role! I eventually sold it and don’t know what happened to that print. I’m sure it’s all pink now— Metrocolo,r you know!
I also had 16 mm prints of the trailers and TV ads, and I swear they were edited with hacksaws and library paste. I am a retired sound editor, and they didn’t go to the three track DME stems to attempt to make a smooth sounding soundtrack. In all seriousness, I could’ve cut a far better trailer in an afternoon. I have no idea what they were thinking!

Hello All,
Have not posted for a while but follow the Forum daily. It's an indispensable part of this great hobby we all enjoy. Indeed I purchased the S8 abridged print of HODS some time ago. The S8 print seems to have been made by shooting selected segments of the feature with a TeleCine converter likely from a 16mm print. Kodak sound S8 cartridges were used for filming, it appears. So every 2 1/2 minutes or so there a splices. Audio was poor when we received so we remixed and its now what I consider to be in presentable condition. I'm a big fan of the movie and paid i recall over $500 bucks off Ebay.
I'd love to produce a film to film print on S8 for myself but not wanting to do a Digital to S8. This will have to suffice for now.
There's the scoop on this one and I was a bit surprised to see other Shadow fans out there in our S8/16mm world. And incidentally, if anyone has or is aware of a good 16mm print that is potentially available for sale, please contact me. Thank you all.
