Apologies if this has been covered before. Feel free to point me in the right direction. However I have recently picked up a mint Elmo ST-1200D that I'm reviving. My eyesight however isn't what it once was and I'm having trouble diagnosing an issue. The issue is that the auto-threader keeps popping up when trying to thread films. This causes the tape heads to close as the film is loading and jams the film causing it to get munched. Most issues I've read seem to be the opposite where the auto-threader won't release. In the stop position it seems to lock okay and release when the relay tab at the take-up is pressed. Once you put the motor in drive however it won't stay down and keeps randomly popping up. Any help or assistance would be appreciated. Thanks Joel.
