I am having trouble with a Keystone K-560 and was wondering if anyone has any experience working with this brand/model? The main issue is that the projector doesn't seem to be moving when in the forward position. Is this a mechanical/electrical issue or am I missing something totally obvious?
I opened the back of the projector to check on the belts and everything seems to be functioning normally when set to rewind (see video 1). Nothing occurs when I move the switch to Rewind, Still, or Forward. While the Still position makes sense, the other 2 don't seem to have any effect either.

My first troubleshooting attempt was to replace the 2 rubber belts incase one was loose, but even after this, the problem persists. I have attached a second video to show the front of the project as well when I was testing all the switch positions.

Does anyone have any further suggestions? Thank you!

Welcome to the Forum David! I used to have one of those projectors... It belonged to my late stepdad. I remember a similar issue. It doesn't show well in your video but if you look further up above the spinning shuttle you will see a roller that may have just bits and pieces of cork attached to it. This roller needs to have a cork tire on it. I think I remember buying a piece of cork and gluing it on which did get the forward to working again. The problem is that it is not touching the forward linkage without that cork tire which has rotted away. So this is a mechanical issue. These are very cheaply made projectors and I recommend not spending too much time on it and find another one that will be much more dependable and more gentle on your old films.

      Hi Janice,
Thank you for taking the time to reply to my inquiry. I think you may be right; this might be more expensive to fix than it is worth. I will give your suggestion a try before I call it quits. Is the circled item where the cork would be? Or am I looking at the wrong area?

Since I don't have this projector anymore I can't say for certain. It could also be the left roller. However if the projector works in reverse you can see where it is touching the roller there and if the linkage moves to the other roller in forward then that would be the roller missing the tire.
