Recent Acquisition of Bolex H-8 Camera

I am a new 8mm forum member and proud owner of a nice Bolex H-8 camera.
I also own a Kodak 8mm and a Keystone 8mm camera.
It has been years since I last filmed with the Kodak camera and I look forward to cinematography with the Bolex.
Planning to DIY develop my double 8 film with a Lomo UPB 1-a tank.

Any advice is appreciated!

Very good. If you feel a camera should be overhauled, I’m here to do that. Especially an H-8 needs lubrication in some crucial spots more than an H-16. I can also help with lenses and accessories.

Next important is a good tripod. And a fine projector.

My H-8 non-reflex does not need overhaul however I am concerned about lubrication.
Is there a source for a proper oil?

I agree that FPP has an excellent variety of film stock.

If you're into projecting films, I can highly recommend Kodak's latest Ektachrome color reversal! Very good colors, contrast, and sharpness! Of course I'm shooting the Super 8 version, which is easier to find than Regular 8. Although FPP has it in Regular 8, and keeps it in stock.

I've never owned the Bolex M-8, but it is a highly regarded Standard 8 silent projector! Built to legendary Bolex Swiss standards! I own the Bolex 18-5 Standard 8 projector, and that is built to a high standard of fit and finish! Both use the very reliable twist-to-focus lenses for very accurate focusing.

Nice. The 109 was the successor to the A-8 which appeared in 1941. I think it was sold until 1959 or even 1960.
