  • Super 8 Camera Scope Lens

    Greetings friends!

I've been shooting Super 8 film for the past few years with my Yashica Electro 600 for my personal enjoyment. I mostly shoot for family holidays and short films, but I was wanting to know if there are any quality lens attachments for shooting film in scope?

    Thanks,
    Lincoln

Lincoln, I would recommend the Kowa Prominar 8-Z Anamorphic lens. I used mine to film and project and had very good results. Here is a video from Youtube that shows another user's results:

Out by the seaside field testing the highly coveted Kowa Prominar 8-Z x2 anamorphic lens. Known also as the 16-H or B&H overseas, this is a top-tier Japanese adaptor which captures very sharp and expressive images, with a slight vintage tone to the overall aesthetics. A superb lens with high-end cinematics and production value. Camera: Panasonic Lumix S1H. Captured using V-Log profile in 4K-A (4:3) anamorphic format. Lenses and filters: Helios 44-2 58mm f/2 and Samyang 85mm f/1.4. Rapido FVD-16A single focus adaptor. Various standard dioptres and variable ND filter. Edited using Premiere Pro 2023. Colour graded with Lumetri Color and Magic Bullet Looks. V-Log to Rec.709 conversion LUTs by Bounce Color. Exported at 2.41:1 aspect ratio.
