  • GAF Dual 8mm Projectors ...

Back in the day I owned a GAF Dual 8mm 2388 projector and although mostly plastic it ran like a top! I am considering purchasing another one now as a backup and they are mostly low cost.

Can someone (Janice?) point me to a thread or explain what it is with all the different models etc.? What is Anscovision? Many of these models look similar but what is their high-end model? What was the last model produced? I did see a 2588Z but did the numbers go into the 3000s?

Finally, is there a "How to" regarding replacing the bulb with a lower cost Halogen bulb? Is there modification required or is this a simple plug in and go?

    Thanks!

There is even a 3100 s 😉 You can have a look at different models on this page : Gaf – Spare Part Finder – Van Eck Video Services (van-eck.net)

Thanks! There's even more on that list of GAFs than I am seeing on eBay.

I should point out that the 3000 series are Super 8 sound projectors made by Chinon in Japan, whereas the dual-gauge silent projectors were made by GAF (General Aniline & Film) in the USA.

Many others on the Van Eck site are actually slide projectors.
