The plastic screw on my take-up spindle broke and I need to get a new screw. can anyone tell me the correct thread size for this?
I'm leaning towards #4-48 as a 4-40 screw is close but won't go.
Hi Michael, the screw on my B&H spindles is METRIC, size M2.5 x 6, and needs a washer 5mm x 2.5mm to work. I bought my replacements at a company that handles special fasteners, here in Greensboro NC. I have replaced nearly all of the plastic screws in my several 8mm and super 8mm projectors, design 245, 253, 353, 456, et al. Some B&H projectors have metal screws for the reel spindle; however, I am not sure when the change happened. I hope this information is helpful. David L. Baker Greensboro NC
