It sounds and looks like 16mm and 35mm users call "Cores" to me.

For 35mm, I don't know but siper 8 and16mm cores are designed to fit a split spool and not to bu put directly on the splindle, so that's a small difference with that "bobin" (for those interested, in French, a "bobine" is a spool or a reel, there is no difference, un unlike in English, bewteen the two words and a "core" is called "noyau", don't try to pronouce it ).
