Swapping the gear in a Braun Visacustic 2000

I can buy a Braun Visacustic 2000 in mint condition for $400 plus shipment, from a person named Evans, but the original gear is still in place.
I can buy a metal gear at S8 Profis but,...
is it easy to replace it myself?
Can I just open the cover and pop out the gear between others and put the new gear in, or must I disassemble a few more things?

I don't know that projector and cannot garantee the information, but on a French site, someone said it was not difficult.
