    Mystery solved. I now have a Yashica PE editor and I have attached photos of how the reel arms fold inside the housing. It does use a chain drive, but the chain has come off on the crank side so I will take the editor apart and see what needs to be done to fix it. This is a very nifty editor and as with other film-related equipment of the past it is all heavy gauge steel and has the nice textured finish. Thanks to the folks who responded to help. The lid was pretty tight to get it open so that is probably why the first enquiry I made said they could not get it open, plus the release knob has to be turned correctly to get it open. The reel arms are held open or closed with a spring, so they will be firm when transporting film and don't rattle when folded inside the case.
